AN ACT concerning Sale of Tobacco Products - Convenience Stores for the purpose of prohibiting the sale or distribution of tobacco products, tobacco smoking accessories, and electronic cigarettes in convenience stores, food and beverage stores, and grocery stores of a certain size; adding certain definitions; increasing penalties for violations of the law; and generally relating to the sale or distribution of tobacco products.

Background
This bill will add definitions to the existing law regarding the sale of tobacco products, and will prohibit the sale, or other distribution of tobacco products, tobacco smoking accessories, and electronic cigarettes at any: convenience store; food or beverage store; or grocery store with less than 10,000 square feet of retail floor space. It will also increase existing fines for violations of law from not more than three hundred dollars ($300.00) to not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) for the first violation, and from not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) to not more than Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) for subsequent violations.
