Title

AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING RESIDENTIAL ZONES for the purpose of prohibiting the development of new residential or school uses on land used for the installation and operation of high-voltage equipment at substations uses that were existing on a certain date for purposes of electrical generation, transmission, and distribution in connection with providing public utility service in the County by a regulated public utility, in furtherance of the public safety, health, and welfare of citizens and residents of Prince George’s County.

 

Background

This bill will prohibit the construction of new residential and  school uses within 1,000 feet of land used for installation and operation of high-voltage equipment at substations uses that were existing on a certain date for purposes of electrical generation, transmission, and distribution in connection with providing public utility service in the County by a regulated public utility, in furtherance of the public safety, health, and welfare of the citizens and residents of Prince George's County.
