Proposed correspondence to Alvin Thornton, Ph.D., Chair, Board of Education, regarding Reconciliation of their FY 2020 Approved Annual Operating Budget.
Background
The Board of Education transmitted their FY 2020 reconciliation Operating Budget transfer request on June 27, 2019. The Board of Education approved the CEO’s reconciliation recommendation on June 20, 2019 and is requesting the Council’s approval of the reconciling adjustments. The transfer request authorizes reassignment of appropriations between major budget expenditures categories in the amount of $41,021,269 included in their FY 2020 Approved Operating Budget. The transfer request does not alter the Fiscal Year Approved FY 2020 Operating Budget of $2,183,122,900. The reconciled budget maintains fiscal stability and supports critical school-based initiatives which are anticipated to increase the progressive improvement being made within Prince George’s County Public Schools.
