Title

AN ACT CONCERNING EVICTION for the purpose of providing legislative intent; requiring certain notification; requiring certain responsibilities for trash removal following an eviction; providing for a certain exception; providing for fines; and generally relating to evictions and removal of trash following an eviction.

Background

The purpose of this legislation is to address the public health concerns regarding trash collection that may arise following an eviction. The County finds that the accumulation of garbage, litter, rubbish, and/or trash following an eviction may adversely affect the health, safety and general welfare of the residents of the County. This legislation seeks to improve public health by minimizing odor, removing unsightly garbage, litter, rubbish, and/or trash, in order to prevent insect infestation and insect breeding and to prevent rodent feeding.
