Title

Proposed letter to Mr. James McCament, Acting Director, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and Ms. Mary Gibert, Regional Commissioner Public Buildings Service, U.S. General Services Administration, urging USCIS to finalize its Lease and Occupancy agreement with GSA; and that GSA finalize its lease with Town Center at Camp Springs LP.

Background

This letter urges the finalization of the lease for the headquarters of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) with Town Center at Camp Springs, LP.  Prince George’s County has less than 4 percent of the region’s federal office leasing space; in spite of the fact that more than 75,000 federal workers call Prince George’s County home.  Prince George’s County has offered a significant incentive package to the developer through the County’s Economic Development Incentive Fund, Payment in Lieu of Taxes, Enterprise Zone tax credits, and Tax Incentive Financing Bonds.
