Title
A Resolution Concerning the City of Mount Rainier Mixed-Use Town Center (M-U-TC) Zone Development Plan For the purpose of initiating a secondary amendment to the 1994 Approved Mount Rainier Mixed-Use Town Center (M-U-TC) Zone Development Plan (Portion of Planning Area 68).
Background
On June 4, 2009 the Prince George’s County Planning Board initiated a secondary amendment to the City of Mount Rainier Mixed-Use Town Center (M-U-TC) Zone Development Plan. The development plan area is approximately 11.46 acres and is located in Planning Area 68 which is part of the 2004 approved Gateway Arts District Sector Plan. It includes all the M-U-TC zoned properties within the City of Mount Rainier along both sides of Rhode Island Avenue (US1) extending northward from Eastern Avenue to 35th Street. No expansion to the M-U-TC area is proposed as part of this project. The updated development plan will be developed with the City of Mount Rainier, the community, and business stakeholders to reflect the community’s shared vision of Mount Rainier.
