Title
An Act concerning Supplementary Appropriations for the purpose of declaring additional revenue and appropriating to the General Fund Outside Sources to provide funds for costs that were not anticipated in the Approved Fiscal Year 2011 Budget.
Background
This legislation will provide supplementary appropriations totaling $8,954,417 to the Board of Education in the FY 2011 Budget. The additional outside aid revenues are comprised of $6.6 million of Board source revenues from prior year fund balance and a net increase of $2.4 million from State and Federal Aid sources. The additional revenues will increase the FY 2011 General Fund budget from $2,619,453,600 to $2,628,408,017.
The General Fund supplementary appropriations will support the Board of Education’s operating budget. This funding will be used to reduce one furlough day for all Board of Education employees, reverse the conversion of certain employee assignments, reinstate ten instructional media aides, and retain employees scheduled to be separated through a reduction in force.
