Title
A Resolution initiating an amendment to the 1993 Approved Glenn Dale-Seabrook-Lanham and Vicinity Master Plan (Planning Area 70) and approving the Goals, Concepts, Guidelines, and Public Participation Program in order to develop a comprehensive approach to implement the recommendations of the 2002 Prince George’s County Approved General Plan, to ensure that future development is consistent with County policies.
Background
The approved FY 2008 Planning Department Work Program requires the initiation of a Lanham Area Sector Plan and a concurrent sectional map amendment (SMA). The project has been renamed to the Glenn Dale-Seabrook-Lanham and Vicinity Sector Plan and SMA to better reflect the communities and area encompassed by the proposed plan boundaries. The new sector plan will establish goals, policies and strategies to guide the future growth and development of the Glenn Dale, Seabrook and Lanham area.
The new sector plan will amend portions of the 1993 Approved Glenn Dale-Seabrook-Lanham and Vicinity Master Plan (Planning Area 70) and the 2002 Prince George’s County Approved General Plan. The new sector plan will establish goals, policies and strategies to guide the future growth of the Glenn Dale, Seabrook and Lanham area. The planning and zoning recommendations will provide guidance for future development activity appropriate for the General Plan designated Developing Tier, the designated Corridors of Annapolis Road and Greenbelt Road and the designated Community Center at the Seabrook MARC Station. This resolution initiates the Glenn Dale-Seabrook-Lanham and Vicinity Sector Plan and SMA.
