Title
A Resolution proposing amendments to the Adopted Sector Plan and Endorsed Sectional Map Amendment for the East Glenn Dale Area (portions of Planning Area 70), which defines long-range land use policies for guiding future development and sets forth the zoning to implement those land use policies within the sector planning area.
Background
Council Resolution CR-65-2004 approved the initiation of the Sector Plan and SMA for the East Glenn Dale Area (portions of Planning Area 70) on October 25, 2004. The goal of the plan is to develop a comprehensive approach to implementing the recommendations of the 2002 General Plan and to ensure that future development is consistent with county policies. On July 25, 2005, the District Council and the Planning Board held a duly-advertised joint public hearing to receive testimony on the preliminary Sector Plan and proposed SMA. On October 27, 2005, the Planning Board adopted the plan and endorsed the SMA with amendments contained in Planning Board Resolution PGCPB No. 05-208. The District Council held a worksession on November 22, 2005 to review Planning Board recommendations. On November 27, 2005, the District Council adopted CR-89-2005 to propose amendments to the adopted plan and endorsed SMA and to set forth a second joint public hearing on proposed amendments. Subsequently, the District Council will propose additional amendments to CR-89-2005 on February 7, 2006. This resolution will replace CR-89-2005.
