Title

AN ACT CONCERNING THE CLASSIFICATION PLAN FOR PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY for the purpose of reestablishing certain classes of work, adding new classes of work, reallocating a certain class grade, and abolishing a class of work.

Background

This legislation reestablish certain classes of work, adds new classes of work, reallocates a certain class grade, and abolishes an obsolete class of work.

The Office of Human Resources Management’s Classification and Compensation Division collaborated with the Health Department and identified the need for amendments to the Classification Plan to strengthen essential public health services.  The amendments include reestablishing the Disease Control Specialist class series and creating higher-level Epidemiologist classes of work to enhance analytical capacity and ensure the County can respond effectively to evolving and complex public health challenges.  Additionally, one position has been identified for a grade adjustment to better align the Classification Plan structure, and one position is recommended for removal from the plan as it is obsolete.

A fiscal impact will be provided by the Office of Management and Budget.
