Title:

A RESOLUTION CONCERNING ACCESSORY DWELLING UNITS TASK FORCE for the purpose of extending the term of the Accessory Dwelling Units Task Force.

Background

The Prince George’s County Council on October 7, 2025 adopted CR-91-2025, establishing the Accessory Dwelling Units Task Force, a fifteen (15) member group. The Task Force was established with the mission of reviewing and evaluating current practices relating to legislation for the development of accessory dwelling units in Prince George’s County and making policy recommendations to the Prince George’s County Council.

CR-91-2025 provided that the Task Force shall present its report and recommendation to the County Council on or before February 28, 2026.  Due to the comprehensive and complex nature of this endeavor, more time is needed in order to give the Task Force recommendations to be reported with proper coverage.

The Task Force requests that its term shall be extended to May 1, 2026.
