Title

A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE PUBLIC FACILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION AND MOBILITY ELEMENTS OF THE STAFF DRAFT WEST HYATTSVILLE-QUEENS CHAPEL SECTOR PLAN for the purpose of identifying inconsistencies between the Staff Draft West Hyattsville-Queens Chapel Sector Plan and existing or proposed State or County facilities, and approving the inclusion of any new public facility proposals prior to the adoption of the sector plan by the Prince George’s County Planning Board of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission.

Background

Pursuant to the Land Use Article, Maryland Annotated Code, and Section 27-3502 of the County Code, the Prince George's Planning Board must allow the County Executive to identify and the County Council to resolve, by Resolution, any potential conflicts between existing and proposed lines of transportation within a draft sector plan.  In addition, should conflicts be identified, the local zoning law provides that the County Council supply direction to the Planning Board to resolve them.  This Resolution confirms the Council's assent to the Public Facilities Element of the Staff Draft West Hyattsville-Queens Chapel Sector Plan.
