Title

AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING C-S-C ZONE for the purpose of permitting consolidated storage uses within the C-S-C (Commercial Shopping Center) Zones of Prince George’s County, under certain specified circumstances.

Background

This bill will amend the County Zoning Ordinance to permit consolidated storage uses, under certain specified circumstances, within the C-S-C Zones of Prince George's County. As discussed during the September 27, 2017, work session of the County Council's Planning, Zoning, and Economic Development standing committee, the bill's sponsor Council Chairman Davis announced that--due to an unfortunate error within PG Atlas, the online mapping system for the County administered by the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission--the bill would not realize the legislative intent of the Council to revitalize certain existing commercial areas in the County.  Accordingly, upon motion and unanimous favorable vote by the members of the PZED committee on September 27, 2017, staff was directed to redraft a new, renumbered bill that corrects the zoning classification, as originally intended for applicability pursuant to CB-81-2017, and that said legislation not be referred to committee, since the merits of the legislation has had sufficient, prior vetting in a standing committee.

NOTE:  As permitted by the rules, and because this bill has already been through committee as CB-81-2017, no committee referral will be made.
