Title

AN ACT CONCERNING HOUSING AND PROPERTY STANDARDS FOR NON-RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY for the purpose of amending the Prince George’s County Code to increase penalties for non-residential property for non-compliance with housing and property standards; an increase of up to five thousand dollars for non-compliance; and generally relating to housing and property standards in Prince George’s County.

Background

Under current County law, a responsible person issued a civil citation under Section 13-246 is subject to a $1,000 fine. This legislation creates a separate fine schedule for non-residential property owners, starting at $2,000 for a first offense and increasing to $5,000 for a second or subsequent offense. The residential fines for non-compliance with property standards set out in Division 7 remain the same.
