Title

A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE PUBLIC FACILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION AND MOBILITY ELEMENTS OF THE PRELIMINARY BOWIE-MITCHELLVILLE AND VICINITY MASTER PLAN for the purpose of identifying inconsistencies between the Preliminary Bowie-Mitchellville and Vicinity Master Plan and existing or proposed State or County facilities; and approving the inclusion of any new public facility proposals prior to the adoption of the master plan by the Prince George’s County Planning Board of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission.

Background

In accordance with the provisions of  Part 13, Prince George’s County Zoning Ordinance, the Planning Board transmitted the Public Facilities Element of the preliminary Bowie-Mitchellville and Vicinity Master Plan for the purposes of identifying potential conflicts with proposed facilities with existing County lines of transportation. On August 24, 2021, the Planning Board referred the proposed Public Facilities Element to the County Executive and County Council for this purpose. If conflicts were identified, County law requires that the District Council direct the Planning Board how to resolve any conflicts in the Public Facilities Element. This Resolution will serve to reflect that no conflicts were identified and to approve the Public Facilities element of the preliminary master plan for further action by the Planning Board.
