Title
A RESOLUTION CONCERNING CONTRACT APPROVALS for the purpose of approving a contract for the Health Department.
Background
The legislation is required pursuant to Section 819 of the Prince George’s County Charter. Section 819 requires personal service contracts exceeding an aggregate of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00) per contractor or an aggregate of Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000.00) for all other multiyear contracts to be approved by resolution of the County Council upon notice and public hearing.
The contract has been awarded to Totally Linking Care in Maryland, LLC through Procurement code 10A-108 for services under the Health Department’s PreventionLink grant. The PreventionLink grant initiative, funded by the Federal Government’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), provides grant funded services for the prevention and treatment of diabetes, heart disease and stroke.
Totally Linking Care in Maryland, LLC is comprised of a team of providers, outpatient services, local health departments, community organizations and residents who work together in partnership to identify solutions that help better coordinate medical care for patients especially those with serious chronic conditions and/or complex medication issues. Team members include: University of Maryland Capital Region Health, Doctors Community Hospital, Fort Washington Medical Center, MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center, Med Star St. Mary’s Hospital, Area Agencies on Aging, Maryland State Medical Society and Primary Care Providers, Prince George’s County Health Department and Calvert County Health Department.
There is no fiscal impact because the funding for the contract has been received from the Grantor. The contract is a twelve (12) month single term contract which, due to the Federal fiscal year, crosses County fiscal years 2021 and 2022. The funding has been fully appropriated in the County’s 2021 fiscal year budget.
