Title

AN ACT CONCERNING SECONDHAND AND PAWN DEALERS for the purpose of repealing the requirement that a pawn dealer or secondhand precious metal objects dealer pay a transaction fee and requiring that secondhand dealers pay a transaction fee to submit an electronic report required pursuant to State law, providing for a certain effective date, and generally relating to pawn dealers, secondhand dealers and secondhand precious metal objects dealers.

Background

This bill repeals the electronic transaction fee to be paid by pawn dealers and secondhand precious metal objects delears. The State law requires electronic reporting and provides that the State law may not be construed to require a pawnbroker or secondhand precious metal objects dealer to obtain additional computer software at the pawnbroker's or dealer's expense or to pay a transaction fee to submit an electronic report pursuant to that State law.
