Title

A RESOLUTION CONCERNING WAIVER APPROVAL FOR PROCUREMENT OF GREATER THAN $500,000 for the purpose of approving the waiver of the participation requirement of at least forty percent (40%) certified County-Based Small Businesses (CBSB) in procurements greater than Five Hundred Thousand ($500,000) pursuant to Section 10A-161(a)(1) of the Prince George’s County Code (Code).

Background

This legislation is waiving certain requirements for procurements.  Pursuant to Sections 10A-114 and 10A-161 of the Prince George's County Code, a waiver is required if the Purchasing Agent determines that there are insufficient responsible County-Based Small Businesses to fulfill the forty percent (40%) requirements.  The Prince George’s County Code requires approval of the waiver by Council Resolution and the concurrence of the County Executive.
