Title

Proposed letter to Elizabeth M. Hewlett, Chairman Prince George’s County Planning Board, regarding continuation of Preservation Plats for Rights of Way, which are due to expire on June 30, 2018.

Background

TRANSPORTATION, HOUSING & ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE:  April 26, 2018

Committee Vote: Favorable, 3-0 (In Favor: Council Members Turner, Toles and Taveras)

Section 24-141 of the County Code requires that the Planning Board shall provide an opportunity for the County Executive, the County Council, and affected municipalities to comment on the continuation of reservation plats prior to their expiration.  The Planning Board, by letter dated March 5, 2018 requested the Councils comments on three (3) reservation plats that are due to expire on

June 30, 2018.

Mr. Thomas Masog, M-NCPPC Transportation Planning Section, indicated that all three (3) reservations were established for facilities recommended in the adopted and approved Master Plans and that two (2) property owners consented to the additional one (1) year continuation of the reservations. As of the date of the THE committee work session, the property owner of reservation plat numbered 1 had not responded.  If no affirmative response to continue the reservation is received, the reservation should not be extended.

The Committee reviewed the reservation plats and supports the Planning staff recommendation of a one (1) year continuation on the three (3) reservations.
