Title A Resolution concerning the Central Business Area Designation for the purpose of designating certain areas within Prince George's County as its Central Business Areas in compliance with Executive Order 12072 pertaining to the location decisions by the United States Government Background This legislation will provide the General Services Administration (“GSA”) the legal documentation required to consider locating federal facilities in the County. There is concern with the comparatively low proportion of GSA space in Prince George’s County, particularly at metro stations and similar areas designated for dense development. U. S. Executive Order 12072 directs the United States Government to consider locations in a Central Business Area (“CBA”) identified by local officials when locating federal facilities. The designation as a Central Business Area requires approval of the County Executive and the County Council.
