Title

A RESOLUTION CONCERNING AMENDMENT OF SECTION 305, CHARTER OF PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY for the purpose of proposing an amendment to Section 305 of the Charter of Prince George's County to provide that if the Council passes a law to change the decennial redistricting plan proposed by the Redistricting Commission, such law to adopt its own decennial redistricting plan shall be by bill and not by resolution; and generally regarding redistricting.

Background

This is a Charter Amendment Resolution that proposes an amendment to Section 305 of the Charter that provides if the County Council passes a law to change the redistricting plan proposed by the Redistricting Commission it shall do so by bill and not by resolution after notice and public hearing. This amendment will remove certain language in Section 305 of the Charter which may result in the County Council adopting a resolution instead of a bill when it changes the redistricting plan proposed by the Redistricting Commission.
