Background
Housing Initiative Partnership, Inc. (“HIP”), a nonprofit organization, has applied to the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development for approval of the “Blight Removal and Creation of Workforce Housing” project for participation in the Community Investment Tax Credit Program. The project provides for the acquisition of vacant and derelict properties to rehabilitate or rebuild in order to create homeownership opportunities for working families and individuals within the inner beltway of Prince George’s County. The State of Maryland requires local legislative support for participation in the Program.
