Title

A RESOLUTION CONCERNING SPENDING AFFORDABILITY LIMITS FOR THE WASHINGTON SUBURBAN SANITARY COMMISSION for the purpose of establishing spending control limits on the Fiscal Year 2025 Water and Sewer Operating and Capital Budgets of the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC).

Background

This resolution establishes spending control limits on the Fiscal Year 2025 Water and Sewer Operating and Capital Budgets of the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC). The Spending Affordability Working Group, consisting of the staffs of the Montgomery and Prince George's County Councils and both County Executive's offices, make certain recommendations on the WSSC Fiscal Year 2025 Operating and Capital Budgets. The Prince George's County Council and the Montgomery Council have reviewed the information compiled by the staff relating to spending control limits on the percentage of water and sewer increase, new debt, debt service, and operating expenditures.  The deadline for establishing the spending control limits is November 1, 2023.
