Title
AN ACT CONCERNING THE CLASSIFICATION PLAN FOR PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY for the purpose amending certain class titles and grades, adding new classes of work, and abolishing certain classes of work.
Background
This legislation reestablishing certain classes of work, adding new classes of work, revising class
titles and class grades, and abolishing classifications.
The Office of Human Resources Management’s Classification and Compensation Division
collaborated with the Department of Health, the Department of Public Works and Transportation,
the Office of Homeland Security, the Office of Information Technology, and the State’s
Attorney’s Office regarding agency classification requests and operational needs. Through this
review process, agencies identified the need to update portions of the County’s Classification
Plan to address evolving service demands, organizational changes, workforce structure
considerations, and operational efficiencies. As a result, the recommended amendments include
reestablishing certain classes of work, adding new classes of work, revising class titles and class
grades, and abolishing classifications that are no longer operationally necessary or reflective of
current organizational needs.
A fiscal impact will be provided by the Office of Management and Budget.
