A RESOLUTION CONCERNING UNIVERSAL DESIGN FOR HOUSING - IMPLEMENTATION DATE EXTENSION - MULTIFAMILY RESIDENTIAL DWELLING UNITS for the purpose of extending the implementation date for certain Prince George’s County Code and The Zoning Ordinance of Prince George’s County, Maryland laws regarding the County’s universal design for housing law; providing for the extension of the implementation date solely for multifamily residential dwelling units to a certain time; and generally regarding universal design for housing.

 

Background

This universal design resolution extends the July 1, 2026 implementation date for certain Prince George’s County Code and The Zoning Ordinance of Prince George’s County, Maryland laws regarding the County’s universal design for housing law solely for multifamily residential dwelling units. This extension is to October 31, 2026 to address unexpected and unintended impacts on multifamily residential dwelling units effecting accessibility.
