Title

AN ACT CONCERNING INTERPRETATION OF COUNTY CODE SECTION NUMBERS for the purpose of providing for a new Section number format to facilitate the adoption of a modern Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Regulations for Prince George’s County and reduce confusion within Subtitles 24 and 27 of the Prince George’s County Code.

(by request - Planning Board)

Background

Section 1-117 of the County Code (Interpretation of Section Numbers.) specifies the formatting for section numbers throughout the County Code. This format is incompatible with the formatting proposed by the consultant team, Clarion Associates, for the County’s new Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Regulations.

In order to provide the legal flexibility necessary to adopt Clarion’s recommended best practice outline format, should the District Council choose to approve the new Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Regulations, a revision to Section 1-117 is necessary.
