Title
AN ACT CONCERNING SUPPLEMENTARY APPROPRIATIONS for the purpose of declaring additional revenue and appropriating to the General Fund to provide for costs that were not anticipated and included in the Approved Fiscal Year 2014 Budget, and providing an adjustment to revenue estimates to the Special Revenue Fund.
Background
This legislation provides additional appropriation authority totaling $35.7 million in the General Fund, including appropriating funds to the Police Department and Fire/EMS Department to meet operational needs including overtime, higher fringe benefits costs, vehicle maintenance costs, gas and oil costs and other operating expenses. The additional resources will increase the FY 2014 General Fund budget as amended by CB-100-2013 and CB-35-2014 (pending Council approval) from $2,735,466,200 to $2,771,203,700. The legislation also includes a supplementary appropriation of $1.7 million in the Drug Enforcement and Education Special Revenue Fund to support additional costs related to the records management system, vehicle outfitting, armament and staffing requirements for the Police Department. The additional resources will increase the FY 2014 Special Revenue Fund from $148,347,700 to $150,076,900.
