A RESOLUTION CONCERNING AUTOMATED PURCHASING MACHINES for the purpose of designating a principal law enforcement unit to comply with State law, pertaining to the State regulation and State licensing of automated purchasing machines, and generally relating to automated purchasing machines.
Background
The purpose of this resolution is to designate a principal law enforcement unit to comply with State automated purchasing machine laws. During the 2014 Session of the Maryland General Assembly, Chapter 161 of the Laws of Maryland of 2014, (SB 382) was enacted regarding State regulating and State licensing of automated purchasing machines. As part of the legislative scheme, counties are required to adopt a resolution designating a primary law enforcement unit to work with the State in enforcement of the automated purchasing laws. The Prince George's County Police are designated as the County's primary law enforcement unit for this law.
