A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE 2013 LARGO TOWN CENTER SECTOR PLAN AND SECTIONAL MAP AMENDMENT for the purpose of approving, in accordance with procedures set forth in the Zoning Ordinance of Prince George’s County, Maryland, certain minor amendments to the 2013 Largo Town Center Sector Plan and Sectional Map Amendment.
Background
Sections 27-548.26 and 27-642 of the Zoning Ordinance of Prince George’s County provide a process for initiation and approval of minor amendments to approved comprehensive plans by the District Council. Accordingly, by way of its adoption of CR-79-2015 and CR-4-2016 on November 17, 2015, and January 12, 2016, respectively, the District Council directed initiation of certain minor amendments to the 2013 Largo Town Center Sector Plan and Sectional Map Amendment, namely to clarify a potential discrepancy between the plan text and Map 31 concerning minimum building height standards within the Largo Town Center Development District, and to clarify and to refine certain standards for free-standing and monument signs within the district standards of the Largo Town Center Development District.
In accordance with the procedural requirements in Section 27-642 of the Zoning Ordinance, the District Council and the Prince George’s County Planning Board conducted a joint public hearing on the proposed minor amendments on February 16, 2016, in order to seek public comment for the purpose of receiving public comment and/or written testimony concerning the proposed minor amendments into the record of joint public hearing testimony. After the close of the public hearing record, the Planning Board reviewed the record testimony with its staff and transmitted its comments and recommendations to the District Council as prescribed by law.
