Title

AN ACT CONCERNING BURGLAR AND HOLDUP ALARM PERMIT FEES

AND FALSE ALARM RESPONSE FEES for the purpose of creating parity between fees for commercial and residential burglar and holdup alarm users and for addressing resources required to respond to false alarm.

Background

The proposed legislation would create parity between commercial and residential users of burglar and holdup alarms by establishing permit and renewal fees for residential users. Residential users are currently not assessed any permit fees. Additionally, the legislation would establish that a false alarm response fee applies beginning with the 3rd false alarm from the same system. Currently, false response fees do not apply until the 4th false alarm from the same system.
