Background

The 2018 Water and Sewer Plan provides for four cycles of category change requests annually to amend the Plan.  This Resolution represents the December 2022 Cycle of Amendments.

The 2018 Water and Sewer Plan was adopted by CR-64-2019, and amended by CR-75-2019, CR-11-2020, CR-45-2020, CR-87-2020, CR-98-2020, CR-22-2021, CR-49-2021, CR-87-2021, CR-105-2021, CR-017-2022, CR-063-2022 and CR-097-2022.

There is one (1) category change request located in the Parkway sewer basin, two (2) in the Blue Plains sewer basin, six (6) in the Western Branch sewer basin, and one (1) in the Mattawoman sewer basin. There is also one (1) waiver request for the use of interim systems located in the Western Branch sewer basin.

Environment Article, Title 9, Subtitle 5, of the Maryland Annotated Code, sets procedures for amendments and revisions to the Plan. At least 30 days prior to the public hearing on the amendments, the County Council must submit to the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission and The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission a copy of the resolution for their recommendations.
