Background Necessitating Legislation:
Based on the repeated horrific actions by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement or U.S. Customs and Border Protection, for which there has been no oversight or accountability, and considering the efforts of such employees to mask their identities, no person employed by either Federal Agency after March 31, 2025 is eligible for employment with the Prince George’s County government.

Background
This bill will prohibit the filling of positions in the County classified service and exempt service with candidates who were employed by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection or U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement after June 30, 2025.
