Title
A Resolution extending the reporting date for the Prince George’s Green Business Advisory Board to review and evaluate the County’s green business opportunities and to recommend appropriate policies and regulations to implement a green business tax credit program in the County.
Background
In 2009 the Maryland General Assembly enacted Senate Bill 403/House Bill 959 (Chapter 257 of the Laws of Maryland 2009) authorizing Prince George’s County to grant, by law, a real property tax credit for certain green type businesses and directed that the Prince George’s County Council and County Executive to jointly appoint an advisory board to provide advice regarding the implementation of the tax credit program. CR-28-2011 established a seven member Prince George’s Green Business Advisory Board to review and evaluate the County’s green business opportunities and to make recommendation for implementation of a green business tax credit program in the County. This resolution would extend the Board’s reporting date from November 1, 2011 to February 1, 2012.
