A RESOLUTION CONCERNING CONTRACT APPROVALS for the purpose of approving a multi-year agreement to supplement pay for eligible Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) providers in Prince George’s County.
Background
The legislation is required to pursuant to Section 819 of the Prince George’s County Charter. Section 819 requires personal service contracts exceeding an aggregate of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00) per contractor or an aggregate of Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000.00) for all other multiyear contracts must be approved by resolution of the County Council upon notice and public hearing.
This contract is to engage Resource Connections Inc. as an administrator of a grant to supplement pay for eligible providers of services that assist developmentally disabled individuals in Prince George’s County. The applicable providers have all been certified with the State of Maryland and currently have contracts with the State to provide DDA services. However, the providers are subject to the State minimum wage requirements and Prince George’s County’s minimum wage is greater than the State's minimum wage. Therefore, the Council approved funding to provide a supplement to eligible providers. This legislation would ensure that the DDA providers had funding for the difference between the State and Prince George’s County minimum wage. The term of Resource Connections Inc. contract is 3 years.
