Title

AN ACT CONCERNING THE CLASSIFICATION PLAN FOR PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY for the purpose of amending the Classification Plan of the County to reallocate the grade for a certain class of work.

Background

This legislation is being submitted pursuant to Section 903 of Article IX of the Charter and Section 16-125 (a) of Subtitle 16 of the County Code and proposes to amend the Classification Plan of the County to reallocate the grade for a certain class of work.

Specifically, this legislation will reallocate the grade for the Executive Director class of work.  In keeping with best practices and to ensure operational efficiency, the Office of Human Resources Management (OHRM) determined the need to reallocate the grade for the Executive Director class of work from a G-33 to G-36.  This reallocation is necessary to enable certain agencies to hire Deputy Directors that are grade G-35 to meet increasing operational needs of the agency.

The fiscal impact will be provided by the Office of Management and Budget.
