Title

A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE PUBLIC FACILITIES AND TRANSPORTATION AND MOBILITY ELEMENTS OF THE STAFF DRAFT WEST HYATTSVILLE-QUEENS CHAPEL SECTOR PLAN for the purpose of identifying inconsistencies between the Staff Draft West Hyattsville-Queens Chapel Sector Plan and existing or proposed State or County facilities, and approving the inclusion of any new public facility proposals prior to the adoption of the sector plan by the Prince George’s County Planning Board of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission.

Background

In accordance with the provisions of Section 27-3205, Prince George’s County Zoning Ordinance, the Planning Board transmitted the Public Facilities and Transportation and Mobility Elements of the Staff Draft West Hyattsville-Queens Chapel Sector Plan  for the purposes of identifying potential conflicts with proposed facilities with existing County lines of transportation. On July 28, 2022, the Planning Board referred the proposed Public Facilities Element to the County Executive and County Council for this purpose. If conflicts were identified, County law requires that the District Council direct the Planning Board how to resolve any conflicts in the Public Facilities Element. This Resolution will serve to reflect that no conflicts were identified and to approve the Public Facilities element of the staff draft sector plan for further action by the Planning Board.
