Title

AN ACT CONCERNING SERVICE OF PROCESS FOR ANTILITTER AND WEED ORDINANCE VIOLATIONS for the purpose of amending the service of process for antilitter and weed violations.

Background

The proposed bill will change the method of service from certified mail to first class mail. The Bill also allows for personal service and posting as alternative means of service.  This change is consistent with the current service of process utilized by DPIE in other departments.  The removal of the certified mailing requirements will ensure that service is effectuated quicker and will reduce administrative costs associated with certified mailing.
