A RESOLUTION CONCERNING COVID-19 HAZARD PAY AND COMPENSATORY TIME FOR EMPLOYEES COVERED BY SALARY SCHEDULE D for the purpose of amending the Salary Plan of the County to reflect the terms of a recent agreement between Prince George’s County, Maryland and the Prince George’s Correctional Officers’ Association, Inc. (Correctional Officers)

 

Background

This legislation will authorize stipends and compensatory time to employees covered by Salary Schedule L. The compensatory time is for the period March 20, 2020 through April 4, 2020.  The stipends will cover the period from April 5, 2020 through termination of the emergency declaration, or June 28, 2020, whichever is earlier.

 

The fiscal impact for compensatory time is estimated at $4,564,394. The fiscal impact for the stipends will be provided by the Office of Management and Budget.

 

Note: Retroactively effective to March 20, 2020.

 

NOTE:  The proposed salary plan amendments were submitted to the County Council by the County Executive on April 29, 2020.  Pursuant to Section 903 of the Charter, if the Council fails to take final action on the proposed salary plan before June 28, 2020, the salary plan shall stand approved.
