Title

A RESOLUTION CONCERNING AN ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEER ASSESSMENT AND STUDY for the purpose of declaring the intent of the Prince George’s County Council (the “County Council”) to commence a stormwater assessment, performed by the Army Corps of Engineers, to assist in future planning considering the impact of bioretention and sprawl.

Background

This resolution declares the intent of the Prince George’s County Council to commence a stormwater assessment, to be performed by the Army Corps of Engineers, to assist in future planning considering the impact of bio-retention and sprawl. The assessment  will evaluate  the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission’s (WSSC) transfer capacity rights from parcels to development sites and the potential impact over the next twenty (20) years. It will focus on primary focal areas within a five-mile radius inland to the East into Prince George’s County from the high tide mark on the deep-water Potomac River, including Broadcreek and Swan Creek inlets, but to include other impact areas. The assessment will also include an update on the suggested floodplain areas as designated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) that will inform future development planning.
