Title

A RESOLUTION CONCERNING SENATE BILL 921 AND HOUSE BILL 1106 CLEAN ENERGY JOBS - RENEWABLE ENERGY PORTFOLIO STANDARD REVISIONS for the purpose of encouraging the Maryland General Assembly to override Governor Hogan’s veto of the Clean Energy Jobs Act.

Background

The Maryland General Assembly passed Senate Bill ("SB") 921 and House Bill ("HB") 1106 during the 2016 legislative session.  The Clean Energy Jobs Act of 2016 will increase Maryland's Renewable Energy standard from 20% by 2022 to 25% by 2020 and couple the new clean energy standard with added funding for clean energy workforce training.  Governor Hogan vetoed SB 921 and HB 1106 on May 27, 2016.
