Title An Act amending provisions of the County Code to change the name of the Minority Business Development Division of the Office of Central Services to the Supplier Development and Diversity Division Background The proposed legislation would change the name of the Minority Business Development Division of the Office of Central Services to the Supplier Development and Diversity Division. This name change is in the County’s best interest as it informs the public that this office provides services to and advocates the interests of local, small and socially and economically disadvantaged businesses and not solely to businesses that are currently or were previously of a business or ethnic minority. Additionally, the inclusion of the word “Development” in the name reaffirms the Division’s commitment to the development aspect of its mission.
