Title
A Resolution approving the application by Prince George’s County, Maryland, to the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development for funding through the Community Legacy Financial Assistance Fund
Background
The County has applied to the State of Maryland’s Department of Housing and Community Development for $200,000 in Community Legacy funds to provide funding to develop a concept plan for reconstruction of Auth Road. Funding of this project, a priority of those living and working within the Camp Springs area, will allow the County to develop a Complete Street concept that, when constructed, would provide continuous sidewalk, bike lanes, and street trees leading to enhanced safety and aesthetic improvements. The Auth Road project is one of the community infrastructure needs identified within the County’s approved Base Realignment and Closure (“BRAC”) Revitalization and Incentive Zone, and will play an important role in revitalizing and reinvesting in one of our older communities. The State of Maryland requires local legislative support for each Community Legacy Program application.
