Title A Resolution concerning The Wilson-Gleis House, the Burgess House, and the Underwood Bealle House For the purpose of designating the Wilson-Gleis House (68-004-97), the Burgess House (68-010-83) and the Underwood-Beale House (84-032) as Prince George’s County historic sites. Background Section 29-120.01 of the Prince George’s County Code provides a process whereby the owners of historic property may file a petition for designation as an historic site with the Prince George’s County Historic Preservation Commission (“HPC”). After a duly advertised public hearing, the HPC issued a its recommendations to the Planning Board, who in turn held a joint public hearing with the District Council on the applications on October 2, 2012. The Planning Board voted unanimously on November 1, 2012, to approve a letter recommending that the Wilson-Gleis House in Riverdale Park, the Burgess House in Hyattsville, and the Underwood-Bealle House in Accokeek be designated as historic sites. Section 29-120.01 further provides that the final approval of these recommended designations rests with the District Council.
