Title A Resolution concerning the State of Maryland Neighborhood and Community Assistance Program for the purpose of approving the project submitted by CASA de Maryland, Inc., to the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development for participation in the Department’s Community Investment Tax Credit Program Background CASA de Maryland, Inc. (“CASA”) is a 501(c)(3) community based nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve the social, economic well-being, and quality of life for the Latino and immigrant community in Maryland. CASA is a community resource, facilitator and advocate for low-income, Latino and other immigrant community members. They provide service to the community through seven offices, two of which are located in Langley Park, Maryland. CASA is applying to the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development for approval of the CASA Workforce Development Project for participation in the Community Investment Tax Credit Program. CASA is seeking tax credit allocations in the amount of $50,000.00 to support its efforts to provide a comprehensive workforce development program that responds to the needs of low-income immigrant workers by providing culturally and linguistically appropriate vocational training, job placement and readiness services, English classes, and other services. The State of Maryland requires local legislative support for participation in the Program.
