Title

A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE STATE OF MARYLAND SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES PROGRAM for Bowie State University and MARC Station. For the purpose of approving Bowie State University (“BSU”) and MARC Station as a Sustainable Community through the Application and Proposed Plan for submission to the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (“Department”) for participation in the Department’s Sustainable Communities Program.

Background

This resolution is to support the designation and boundary of the proposed Bowie State University and MARC Station Sustainable Community. The Sustainable Communities Program, administered by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development was established by the Sustainable Communities Act of 2010 (House Bill 475 Chapter number 487). The program will provide Prince George’s County and key stakeholders in the proposed Bowie State and MARC Station area competitive access to apply for funds from several state agencies including the Maryland Department of Transportation, the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, and more. The application will be submitted to the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development for approval.
