Title Resolution expressing the Prince George’s County Council’s support for House Bill 470 and Senate Bill 167 exempting certain individuals who attended and graduated from Maryland high schools from paying nonresident tuition at public institutions of higher education in Maryland under specified circumstances Background The Maryland State Senate introduced SB167 in January 2011, and respectively introduced HB470 in the House of Delegates in February 2011 which were coined the “Maryland Dream Act”. These Bills would provide undocumented immigrants access to Maryland public higher education institutions at in-state or in-county rates where they were previously barred. Recognizing the significance of providing access to education, the Council, by Resolution, is encouraging the Maryland General Assembly to adopt House Bill 470 and Senate Bill 167. THIS RESOLUTION WAS NOT ADOPTED.
