Title

AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING ADMINISTRATION - PRE-APPLICATION NEIGHBORHOOD MEETINGS - TRANSPARENCY IN LAND USE for the purpose of requiring the Planning Department to publish on its website a searchable database of informational notifications of pre-application neighborhood meetings; and ensuring that electronic versions of the informational notifications comply with ADA accessibility guidelines.

Background

Prior to conducting certain land development activities, the Zoning Ordinance requires applicants to engage with the surrounding community through a neighborhood meeting. To ensure community awareness of the meeting, the Ordinance requires an informational notification to be posted on the subject land as well as mailed to designated parties, including the Planning Department. However, posted signs can be difficult to see clearly and contain limited information. This bill requires the Planning Department to publish these notices on its website in a searchable online listing. Additionally, the bill requires applicants submitting the electronic version of the notification to the Department to ensure that it meets Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) web accessibility guidelines.
