A RESOLUTION CONCERNING PRINCE GEORGE’S CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES SAFETY TASK FORCE for the purpose of establishing a task force to gather information, evaluate, and make recommendations for improving safety, especially for inmates and employees, within the adult detention center of the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections, also known as the Prince George’s County Jail.

 

Background

This Prince George's County resolution will  establish the Prince George's Correctional Facilities Safety Task Force. This task force will review safety conditions at the County Jail, including incidents of violence, facility monitoring practices, and the overall wellbeing of inmates, employees, and visitors. The task force will gather input from staff, returning citizens, advocacy groups, and the public, while also studying best practices from other correctional facilities. The task force will issue recommendations to improve safety, reduce violence, and promote accountability and rehabilitation within the jail.
