Title

A RESOLUTION CONCERNING COMPREHENSIVE HOUSING STRATEGY AD HOC SUBCOMMITTEE for the purpose of extending the reporting time of and providing a sunset for the Comprehensive Housing Strategy Ad Hoc Subcommittee to develop a Comprehensive Housing Strategy for Prince George's County.

Background

In March 2016, the County Council adopted CR-13-2016 that established the Comprehensive Housing Strategy Ad Hoc Subcommittee. The mandate of the legislation is for the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) and the consultant team under Enterprise Community Partners to develop a housing strategy plan. However the reporting due dates to provide a preliminary report on or before December 1, 2016 and a final report on or before October 31, 2017 established under CR-13-2016 must be extended.  A preliminary report, in the form of the Housing Strategy Roadmap, is expected by January 31, 2018 and the Final Report by September 30, 2018.  The Ad-Hoc Committee should also be sunset after completion of the Final Plan Report but not later than November 30, 2018.
