Title

CR-136-2013 - A RESOLUTION CONCERNING WORK GROUP ON CRIME, CHILDREN AND SAFER COMMUNITIES for the purpose of extending the reporting date for the Work Group on Crime, Children and Safer Communities to make recommendations to the Council.

Background

The County Council adopted CR-12-2013, which established the Work Group on Crime, Children and Safer Communities, a thirteen member group, to address the recent spike in youth violence and homicides in Prince George’s County and to recommend strategies and solutions that need to be implemented in order to enhance the safety and decrease the crime by and against the youth in our communities.  The recommendations to the Council were due by September 30, 2013.  The proposed legislation extends the reporting date for the Work Group on Crime, Children and Safer Communities to March 31, 2014.
